Back to the Branding Guide

Embroidery

Embroidery stitches your logo directly into the fabric with coloured thread, recreated by computer-guided machines from a digitised version of your artwork. It is the premium finish for corporate clothing: textured, dimensional branding that will not crack, fade or wash out.

Ideal for golf shirts, jackets, knitwear, peak caps, beanies and bags.

Corporate wearLasts longest

Embroidery or heat press on clothing? Embroidery reads as premium and lasts longest. Heat press captures fine detail and full colour, and suits thin or smooth fabrics.

Colours
Multiple thread colours are stitched in a single run, matched to your brand colours from standard thread charts.
Durability
Outstanding. Stitched thread routinely outlasts the garment itself and survives industrial washing.
Cost
Priced mainly on stitch count, so a compact logo costs less than a large, dense one. Small runs stay viable.
Artwork
Your logo is digitised once into a stitch file. Keep lettering above roughly 4mm; fine gradients are simplified.

How does embroidery work?

  1. 1

Your logo is digitised: converted into a stitch file that tells the machine every stitch, colour and direction.

  2. 2

The garment is hooped and loaded onto the embroidery machine in the branding position.

  3. 3

The machine stitches your design one thread colour at a time, building up the full logo.

  4. 4

Loose threads are trimmed and the backing is removed, leaving a clean stitched finish.

Embroidery questions, answered

What drives the cost of embroidery?

Stitch count. The size and density of your logo matter more than the number of colours, which is why a left-chest logo is the classic cost-effective choice.

Can embroidery reproduce small text or gradients?

Thread has a minimum practical size, so very small text and smooth gradients are simplified during digitising. For fine photographic detail, consider heat press or direct to garment printing.

Does embroidery work on caps and beanies?

Yes. Headwear is one of embroidery's strongest applications; peak caps and beanies are embroidered on specialised frames that hold the curved surface flat under the needle.
